Who wouldn't want to take an opportunity to see more of the world? Experiences which might not happen in your daily life, build skills that will shine on your resume when you're applying for jobs and maybe even be able to practice a new language with native speakers?
There are a lot of benefits of joining a Work and Travel program but still have a number of students who still fear to join the program for some reasons. I have been facing all of those fears before and made a list of the 4 Biggest Work and Travel Fears & How to Overcome Them.
1.I'm worried about Culture Shock and Language Barriers!
Adjusting to a new culture can be overwhelming when you are unaware of what to expect, and coming to new country not knowing anything about it may cause anxiety and discouragement, but if you stay motivated and keep your head high, learning a new culture may not be so challenging. It can also be exciting to learn something new about another culture and how other people live their everyday life.
The easiest way to overcome all those bad feelings is to change your attitude. Always be an open-minded person so you will be ready to face any kind of situations no matter how small or big they are. Also, making friend with local people and joining the activities with them is a must, it will help you stay connected with the culture! It will not only help you to learn and understand more about their culture, but it will also help you make friendship that can last forever. Most importantly, you must believe in your potential. Nothing is beyond your limit. If you face the problems, just remember that every problems has exits. Be calm and try to figure it out how to deal with it. If it takes long time to find by yourself, you are not alone! Everybody will be there to help you. Just talk or share your feelings to whoever you trust. You might be end up making life long friends!
For the rest please stay tuned for next week! Thank you for catching up my blog.
