Spirit Intern Naveen Kumar from India was recently selected by the directors of YMCA of the Rockies – Snow Mountain Ranch in Granby, Colorado to receive his second Core Award!
"Core Awards are given to individuals who demonstrate our core values – honesty, caring, responsibility, respect, faith," explains Polly Gallagher, Snow Mountain Ranch’s International Staff and Volunteer Coordinator.
Naveen Kumar is pursuing a program in Guest Services and is learning US-based best practices in guest services operations.
His manager commended him, saying he did a "Wonderful job accommodating a guest who was physically handicapped.” Thanks to these special accommodations, Naveen Kumar made the guest feel welcomed and earned him his second Core Award of the program.
During his time at Snow Mountain Ranch, Naveen Kumar has attended the 2018 Global Leadership Summit, visited Rocky Mountain National Park, and went to Grand Lake for a waterfall hike.
When asked about his favorite experience so far, he replied, "I liked very much my host company teaching techniques."
Congratulations to Naveen Kumar, as well as fellow Spirit Participant Megha, who also won a Core Award this year!
