Today Spirit Cultural Exchange is participating in Exchange Day, a nationwide celebration of the power of international exchange.
This day aims to celebrate, share, and express the significance of cultural exchange through three key themes – Eat, Play, Give. – to share cultural diversity, have some fun, and give back to host communities.
Thanks to the Alliance for International Exchange in Washington, D.C., Exchange Visitor visa sponsors and Host Employers are provided with materials and tools to plan their own Exchange Day events all across the country.

Volunteer Event with International Crane Foundation
On August 7, 2023, Spirit hosted an event in Wisconsin Dells in partnership with other Exchange Visitor visa sponsors, bringing Exchange Visitor Program participants together to #EatPlayGive as they participated in an organized community service project.
The Exchange Day event took place at the International Crane Foundation in Baraboo, Wisconsin. This organization “works worldwide to conserve cranes and the ecosystems, watersheds and flyways on which they depend.” In partnership with Alliance Abroad Group and Intrax, the Dells Exchange Visitors helped with some light landscaping and cleaning around the organization’s main welcome sign.
This was followed by free lunch and a tour around the organization. During the tour, Exchange Visitors got to learn about cranes, which are found in the Wisconsin Dells and all over the world, and take beautiful photos of the birds.
This event took place alongside many celebrations across the nation and provided the opportunity to raise awareness of cultural exchange programs and to spread the word about the many ways in which people and communities benefit from people-to-people diplomacy.
Thank you to the International Crane Foundation for a wonderful day!
