The local Dells J-1 consortium organizes three large events for participants in the Wisconsin Dells and Lake Delton area throughout the summer. Participants were encouraged to dress up in Halloween costumes and come eat a Thanksgiving dinner to celebrate the combined American holidays. Spirit staff members assisted with the check-in process and game setup.
Participants were served a traditional Thanksgiving meal and played Halloween themed games. The games set up by the consortium included: toilet paper mummy costumes, bobbing for apples, eating donuts off of strings without their hands, and finding a prize at the bottom of a pot full of brains and eyeballs (spaghetti and grapes) while blindfolded. The participants really enjoyed playing the games, especially the mummy contest and the donut eating race. They were especially grossed out by the brains and eyeballs.
Participants were also given free tickets to walk through local Dells attractions including the Lost Temple, Ghost Outpost, and Top Secret buildings. The participants stayed and socialized and started their own games of volleyball, Frisbee, and soccer.
